RaRa and Reddy's Weekend Treat - Oh My Bacon @ Dunlop Street ***Closed. Updated Aug 2017***

Joining the ranks of the new-kids-on-the-cafe-block scene just early this year, Oh My Bacon (OMB) has managed to pique the interest of bacon lovers on this LittleRedDot. As the name implies, yes, Bacon, those smokey salty strips of heaven sent waistline busters, Bacon is THE star in this new player. Anything and everything the imagination can yield is translated into sweet and savoury sinful comfort food. Being ardent fans of everything bacon, this proved to be an exciting find!

Bacon Jam on Baguette @ $2.00 for 2 slices.
Reminds one of Bak Kwa! Sweet, salty and infused with whisky. There is a slight alcohol"kick" after taste, which makes this so worthy of 'em sinful calories.

Located at Dunlop Street, truth be told, we have never ventured to this corner of our LittleRedDot. From what Google Maps told us, it is walkable from Bugis Mrt (7 mins walk to be precise).

We were attended to by a very friendly and enthusiastic gentleman, who gave us a brief of what's what on the menu. Basically this is how it works - look at menu, decide (good luck), order at counter, pay and wait for your food. Simple :)

Bacon macaron?

Spaghetti Carbonara @ $15.00. Was told that this version is how the Italians eat their Carbonara. This version has no cream, the pasta is tossed in eggs and cheese. It is light, garlicky and delicious. And, oh, btw, it is chock full of BACON.

Beef and Bacon Cheeseburger @ $17.00. Beef patty with bacon, lettuce, tomatoes and pickles. Served normally with Paprika Fries, but RaRa don't take spice unfortunately, so naked fries we had. They do the patty at "well done", which is quite disappointingly dry and lacked that level of "juiciness", we normally enjoy our meats done at medium well.

T'was to be the highlight of our meal, but a confusion in the order resulted in us being served the normal Brownie and regular Vanilla Ice Cream. We only realised halfway through the Brownie when we could not find any hint of bacon anywhere we dug. We highlighted to the lady behind the counter, and all she offered was to refund me $0.50 off what I paid for. Not that we were out for a free meal, but that gesture seemed all too paltry.
