What a typical local breakfast would look like - 2 soft boiled eggs with soya sauce and pepper, French Toast with Kaya and a piping hot cup of Ginger Tea with Milk (without the frothy "tarik" of a usual Teh Halia).
If you notice, on the top right corner of the signboard, there is a short description in Japanese. Could be one of those places frequently featured in Japanese guidebooks on must-eats-in-Singapore?
What is unique about this French Toast is that it is grilled over charcoal, not fried with butter in a pan and what you get is a non-greasy, "healthier" version of a French Toast. Unfortunately the very tasty Kaya on the side and in between the bread does not help with the healthy part.
Double dose of Kaya. One straight-up on the side and more hidden in between the slices of egg-dipped bread. The Kaya is not too sweet (very important) and is rich and thick. The distinct whiff of pandan lingers on the palate with every mouthful.
