RaRa and Reddy's Day At The Museum - Dreamworks Exhibition @ ArtScience Museum MBS

The clock is fast ticking towards the end of this exhibition. Currently ongoing till 27th September 2015 at the ArtScience Museum of our iconic Marina Bay Sands. Let's just be honest, who has not seen any of Dreamworks' work? I am sure there will be at least ONE movie from Dreamworks you can relate to, say Kung Fu Panda? Or Madagascar? Or Shrek? These stories all have sequels to the name, which goes on to prove how wildly popular they can make animation to be. On exhibit, those who has an inclination to art and the intricates of drawing, will be pleased to find many raw sketches of famous characters, stills, interactive stations (which the kiddos will love! Anything "touchscreen" will attract the attention of the younger ones). Lug the kids, hurry on down, pack a jacket or two for the kiddos (it gets a bit chilly) there is about a few more days left to enjoy this exhibit!

Photobombed!

T'was a hazy day. Too depressing to be outdoors.

On the way towards the ArtScience Museum, along the tree lined walkway, take a moment to look on the ground, there are plaques dedicated to each tree, commemorating the Youth Olympic Games which was held on the shores of our Sunny Island in 2010. Never noticed this bit until RaRa pointed it out!

There is a customary (money-making) photobooth just right outside the entrance (sorry picture does not show much of the photobooth! P/S : It's in the extreme left of the picture).

RaRa exclaimed "You will like this cos you like to draw!"
Direct translation : "I don't like this cos I don't like to draw!"

So many frames involved just to make ONE scene!

Where it all happens.. love this.

Some of many many beautiful sketches of each character at conceptualisation stage.

One of the interactive stations, gives you an idea of how much attention is put into each expression you watch in the movies.

The award winning movie of the same name is based loosely on an adaptation of a series of 12 children's book written by Cressida Cowell. Betcha didn't know that. "How To Train Your Dragon" was released on 2010, directed by Chris Sanders and Dean DeBlois. It features, among others, the voices of Jay Baruchel (as Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III), Gerald Butler (as Stoick The Vast, Hiccup's father), America Ferrera (as Astrid Hoffersen, Hiccup's fellow student and eventual love interest).

Queuing is our favourite past time.

A mini Imax-like experience which brings you on a 3D "ride" on Toothless (the dragon in picture). Amazing! This is the best part of the whole exhibition. Pity it ended all too soon, it could do with a bit more time extension.

There are seats, and then there were BEANBAGS! Front row at that! But you gotta be quick, they are highly popular!

Kung Fu Panda was released in 2008 and is set in fictional Valley Of Peace in China. The main character is Po, a clumsy giant Panda who adores the art of Kung Fu fighting. He idolizes the Furious Five - Tiger, Crane, Monkey, Mantis and Viper, met them and eventually become the best of friends, and fighting partners. The second sequel was released in 2010 and the third is due in 2016. The movie features the famous voices of stars the voices of Jack Black, Dustin Hoffman, Angelina Jolie, Ian McShane, Jackie Chan, Seth Rogen, Lucy Liu, David Cross, Randall Duk Kim, James Hong, Dan Fogler and Michael Clarke Duncan.

Digital drawing board, like a gigantic Ipad with a gigantic stylus. You can draw, erase, fill, crop etc. All the touch of a pen. Yes, we did that Picasso inspired Po! A++ for team effort!

Where Marty dreamt of freedom

The circus from Madagascar 3 : Europe's Most Wanted.

Game booths with a "sure-win-prize". The booth attendants looked obviously weary from their long shifts, only 1 poor guy had good enough an enthusiasm.

Taa-dah!! It's a real Gingy! I meant it's a real Gingerbread Man! It's edible!

For those who prefer a quieter experience, there is a coloring station as well.

If you come by on the last day (27 September) of the exhibition, they will be holding the final movie screening of all 3 sequels of Madagascar at Expressions Gallery, Level 4 of the museum. There is also face painting near the game booths for those who feel like getting "into character". Unfortunately we did not catch any movie screening while we were there, and RaRa has grown too old to get his face painted haha.
