I believe Arteastiq had it's humble beginnings sometime in 2010-ish, when it once shared the current space in Mandarin Gallery with a furniture store called MARXX. And from what I gathered from reading some past online reviews, the Arteastiq as we now come to know (art jamming with F&B) came out on it's own in 2011-ish, and has now grown to 2 outlets (one in the original Mandarin Gallery location and another in Plaza Singapura). They are known to be the place to go to for a quiet respite in chaotic downtown Orchard, somewhat tai-tai-ish, if I may say so. Arteastiq serves quite a good range of teas, beautiful food in a serene space, and for those with a penchant for art, you can unleash your inner Da Vinci in their art studio section of each outlet. We've done art jamming twice, will do a write-up on that soon enough! But for now, let's talk food. Haha
Menu looks promising..
So cute lah, even comes with a little case..
Earl Grey Lavender Tea @ $11.00. Simply adore the homemade cookies as an accompaniment!
There is a good range of magazines to pick from if your company is not up to par. Hehe
Lychee Tea @ $11.00, this is adored! There are succulent pieces of lychee in the teacup and also in the teapot, the heat from the hot tea slowly infuses the fragrant sweetness into the drink, there is no further need to sweeten the tea. Well, unless you enjoy sugar. Like ALOT.
From left : Upside Down Pineapple Cake, Valhorna Dark Chocolate Ganache Truffles with Macadamia Nut Filling, Matcha Cheesecake (deconstructed style), Macarons.
The 2 items that stood out were the Valhorna Truffles (soooooooo smooth and intense in flavor) and the Matcha Cheesecake. Absolutely adored the bitterness of the matcha intertwined with the luscious creaminess of the cheese. There is a little element of surprise lying in wait... the crumbs sitting on top of the matcha? They pop and sizzle on your tongue! That was like a little party of fireworks going on in my mouth!
I want more, please, can I have more?
The savouries, from left : Mushroom Vol Au Vent, Viva Duck, Smoked Salmon, Panini Morsi
Smoked Salmon with fried shallots (yumz), cream cheese and micro greens. Simplicity at it's best.
Viva Duck - Sliced smoked duck was an absolute gem! Was salivating for more actually, but gotta keep waistline in check.
Ohhh, this little piece of heaven! Vol Au Vent of mushroom capers pate, extra virgin olive oil and Arugula Spears. Creamy and buttery and done in one bite. Seriously have to watch the fast expanding waistline!
So this is how it is made eh..
Reddy's score sheet :
