Lunch With The Lesser Crowd - Group Therapy Coffee @ Duxton

This is one of those places where you will need to open your eyes wide to find the stairs that leads up to it's premises. Group Therapy Coffee is located at Duxton Road (there are 2 other outlets, Katong and Hanson Court), up at the second level of a restored old shophouse. The interior is kept simple with basic furnishings and cement screed flooring. They offer an all-day breakfast, brunch and lunch menu, and their dessert menu is notable for their homemade waffles. Well, we'll talk more about the waffles on a another day..

Seats with arguably the best view in the house *grin*.

Not that small a cafe after all, there are 3 sections of seats, one where I was, the other being behind the wall and the the last section is at the back of the floor (past the counter). Note the high ceiling with timber beams, classicly chic.

This is where you place your order once you have made up your mind. There is a self-serve area for drinking water as well.

Chicken Mushroom Breadbowl @ $15.00. Homemade stew of chicken, carrots, celery, mushrooms, served in a homemade honey breadbowl. The stew is hearty (but could do with a bit more seasoning) and chock full of liao. The breadcrumb crumble adds a good crunch to each mouthful of the stew.

Truffled Ravioli @ $19.00. Truffle and Ricotta filled pasta in herb sauce and topped generously with grated Parmesan. Instagram worthy.

My favourite part of this dish, tearing up the bread and dunking each piece into the gravy. The bread is soft and has the right amount of chewiness. Can't help but to notice the 'homemade" taste and texture to the bread. Delish.
