Treat Time - Flourish @ Tanjong Pagar Plaza

Love the excitement of discovery. Especially if there are cakes involved! Stumbled upon this nondescript joint whilst strolling after lunch. Flourish they are called. Located at the retro shopping complex of Tanjong Pagar Plaza. Tucked in between kopitiams catering to ravenous lunch crowds, they stand out prettily with inviting scents of freshly baked pastries.

Beautifully piped meringues

Very rustic baking. Scones, Bundt Cakes, Tarts..
They have a small working kitchen at the rear of the shop (if you look hard enough into the picture, haha)

Salted Caramel Tart @ $4.50. The shortcrust pastry is delicious, buttery and crumbly. The caramel is good, but I prefer my salted caramel with a bit more salt and a wee bit more "caramelisation".

Assorted Mini Tarts (Cocolat, Tangy Lemon, Yuzu, all $1.20 and Lychee $1.80).
Perfect for those conscious of an expanding waistline.

Farmhouse Carrot Cake @ $5.20. Have always been wary of Carrot Cakes, mostly are either too dry, too sweet and too bland. This has the perfect balance of mois
